CAD Drawings
I decided to try my hand
at a 3D application (3D Studo Max) in order to help fine tune my designs,
and try out new ones. I figured the 3D renderings, if made to
exact scale with proper dimensions, could help me flesh out the designs,
identify problems and clearance issues, and get a quick chance to view
the finished product. Using design aspects from the Mk 3 and 4
which have already proven themselves to work will mean I don't need
to "reinvent the wheel" each time. At the same time,
the 3D drawings will hopefully give visitors a clearer view of certain
aspects of the trikes' construction that the pictures don't.
My plan is to make accurate
scale items like wheels, seats, deraillers, BB's, etc and make them
available so other builder's that might want to model their creations
first, can simply download them, assemble them in whatever fashion they
like, and colour to taste to fast-track a virtual build and see what
their newest creation looks like. This will not only apply to
trikes, but recumbent bikes too. When time permits, I'll make
dimensioned plans of the trikes I've built in front, side and top views
as well as things like the seats and steering components.
Thumbnails of the MAX
files will be listed as well as the link to download the desired models.
Click the picture to view a larger image, hold down the "shift"
key and click the name to download the MAX file.
